Bangladesh is a fascinating country, which ranks however among the poorest countries in the world. Our didactical materials open many beginnings, in order to obtain the complex topic of poverty and development co-operation comprehensibly and descriptive. Despite all difficulties, to which people in Bangladesh must place themselves, there are not only disasters. The flooding in Bangladesh makes the life not only complicated to people - they make the region beautiful also one for the most fruitful world and the landscape. Additionally Bangladesh is the homeland of the Bengal tiger, the sea- roses and the colorful rickshaws. The hospitality of the people in Bangladesh indicates that to its not only material is important. People in Bangladesh attach importance to the fact that the diversity of the country and the self-image of the self-confident, friendly people becoming known to all.
The world population will strongly become larger up to the year 2025. By the new inhabitants of the earth 98 per cent are born in developing countries. Therefore poverty is the challenge of our time, before which we cannot to close and be allowed the eyes. We wish ourselves that everyone can build an opinion and becomes active, in order to eliminate the worst forms of poverty. In our globalizing world our children need tolerance and respect in relation to other cultures, bringing descriptive experiences and interesting movement. Only who knows something from the other one, can respect it and resist prejudices. For this personal experiences and authentic reports can contribute.
The education system in Bangladesh contains a set of deficits. It does not only lack qualified teachers and according to created schools. Also the visit of a school is frequently not possible, because it is too far remotely or takes no consideration the work times of the children helping on the fields. For better living conditions is to arrange an education, however urgently necessary. Even children from poor social classes do not have a possibility without financial assistance on a school program because numerous parents cannot afford the school fees. In poor families particularly with the girls, the parents save money.
MAAKbari has a very positively evaluated methodology since its establishment in the year 1934. This contains the following: - MAAKbari foundation pays proportionally school fees for children and some times gives pocket money in addition (helping instruction takes place in the own foundation building) - Financial support of women with the evening institute in our education center - Offer courses in vocational further training (health, agriculture, economy) - Support local high schools with materials, in relation to the western education system - Info-seminars by western educated follow-up generation of Haji Munshi Moharram Ali - Others
The support of the public education is done among other things via incomes of the agricultural land from Chittagong. Moreover there are donations from Bangladesh, Germany and America. Bangladeshi, Germans and Americans pay membership fees or donation and other support hereby the foundation. Additionally a close co-operation with partner organizations exists.
We are looking young women and men, who cooperate or work as honorary in Bangladesh. Intercultural learning is the center of attention. For the volunteers to work in Bangladesh is above all a chance to argue with the life reality of humans in Bangladesh. We are looking young people up from different areas of life with main or real graduation with final professional training, high school graduate and female high school graduates, social service, students and student in the basic and main study or working person or specialists for a new challenge.
