Late. Mr. A.K.M Abul Khayer son of Mr. Nizamul Haque and mother late. Gul Mehar Begum, was born 1927 in “Moharram Monjil”, Mandaritola, Chittagong. He was a first batch electrical engineering student of Ahsanullah Engineering college (now BUET) in Dhaka during East Pakistan and after that a higher government official of Bangladesh Power development board.During his professional career he started as an assistant engineer (Govt. Officer) by East Pakistan Water and Power development authority Siddirganj, Dhaka.
After 3 years of higher research education over rural electrification development in Germany, he came back to Dhaka and started to work as a superintendent engineer under village electrification project founded by the German Government. Many diesels power station to produce electricity throughout Bangladesh were established.
In the year 1974 he was promoted to chief engineer PDB northern part of Bangladesh and the year 1977 he promoted to board member and responsible for PDB operation.In the year 1979 he died with only 52 years in a car accident. He left behind his wife Mrs. Jebunnesa Khayer, three daughters and three sons.
